Last year, a friend of mine went to Hawaii and sent a postcard to me with the title Kawai Rules. One of the listed rules was "Goals are deceptive. The unaimed arrow never misses." The zen clarity of this struck me quite perfectly at the time. I can hear Arnie Katz saying that this isn't the sort of reinforcement that a slacker like myself needs. Normally, I would agree with him but today, a week after Corflu, I am suffused with such fannish energy that I want to write fanzines now. But it's not like I actually want to work or anything, and because it's so much fun to do NLE with Tom and Ken and Ben, I'm sticking to a postcard-sized format. And so here is Unaimed, because Corflu reminded me that fandom is fun. Thanks to everybody who made it such a great weekend, especially their emminences Cathy Wilson and Aileen Forman. The consuite was godlike, as usual. I hear that Ken and Ben also had a hand in putting the weekend together, so thanks to those two guys as well.

So, I've had this blog for a while, and it amused me to leave it blank and call it "The Unaimed Arrow." Because a blog without words is like an unaimed arrow, get it? Anyway, since Corflu (google it if you don't know) I've been infused with some fannish energy, and I've decided to write a fanzine. I'll use this blog as a launching point for Unaimed, the postcard zine, and we'll see what develops from there.
